* Refers to phenomenon where male pine's and female pine's trunk entwine with each other in the middle, making it looks like they grew from the same roots. Used to express the depth of vow between married couple.

** It's written 結び待つ in the booklet, but it appears to be referring to 結び松, the custom to tie together pine twig as a symbol that a vow has been made during a ceremony, and to wish for blessed happiness. As it contains 待つ (means wait), I took the liberty to imply that they're waiting for the right time to do the custom.
